2019 Board Members
What Do Board Members Do?
A lot. All of our Board members are volunteers, all with full-time jobs outside of their association role. For Board members, there is no off-season: some individuals can spend from five to 20 hours per week on Derita business . Even more when a sport is in full swing. Online registration, equipment management, and all the other things that go into making a successful season doesn't happen by itself. Sponsorships, event scheduling, and budget forecasting aren't magically arranged. It takes a lot of time, care, and effort to accomplish even the basic tasks for an organization with over 300 participants.
During the season, many Board members are pulling double-duty as head coaches, assistant coaches, or team parents. Make that triple-duty when they have children in the Redskins organization. They are volunteering on game day, selling raffle tickets, and trying to get to practices on time - JUST LIKE YOU.
Throughout the season, and as the new year approaches, questions arise. Occasional complaints happen. We even get a few compliments. We ask that you use the links below to have your comment or inquiry directed to the right volunteer. We require all participants in our program to follow the chain of command with any complaint or concern. Talk with your coach first. Issues that are raised with a Board member without contacting the coach first will be re-directed. If you have a complaint, please be prepared to become a part of the solution. We are always in need of supportive people to help us do things better. You can email your questions or concerns to [email protected]
